FMMC Mission Statement

The Florida Medical Manufacturers' Consortium (FMMC) exists to further the interests of the medical manufacturers in the State of Florida by providing opportunities for industry members to assist each other, interface with academic institutions, and promote the mutual interests of the industry and the community to the general public and governmental organizations.

The four strategic thrusts for the organization are as follows:

Forums: Develop opportunities for manufacturing organizations to meet to exchange ideas, to review key information from entities and individuals that influence the current and future directions of the industry, and to provide educational and developmental opportunities to industry members. Provide access to sources of research and new technologies for the industry to maintain a competitive edge.

Academic: Encourage the interaction with all facets of the K-20 educational structure to assure the development of an interested and trained workforce for all levels of employment, promote the enhancement of research facilities and expertise, and to work with the intellectual property of universities to ensure that commercially viable ideas are efficiently brought to the marketplace.

Mentoring: Assist in the development of new firms by providing a source of private sector expertise to those new to the industry thus assuring the continued grow of the medical manufacturing industry cluster in Florida.

Economic Development: Interface with and support the efforts of economic development agencies in Florida to further enhance the industry through growth in the industry and to assure that government actions are consistent with a positive business environment for the industry. Provide the necessary information and education to the general public and elected governmental officials to encourage a positive view of the industry and its accomplishments.
